In this edition:

• The EAT hold that in an office culture of jibing and teasing, being called a “fat ginger pikey” did not amount to harassment, as the Claimant was an active participant in the banter and the conduct was not unwanted.
• The Government has accepted the Low Pay Commission’s recommendations for hourly rate increases to the National Living Wage and the National Minimum Wage in April 2019.
• A survey commissioned by the Equality and Human Rights Commission reveals that 61% of women would take an organisation’s gender pay gap into consideration when applying for jobs.
• Unlock (the charity ‘for people with convictions’) has published new guidance on the GDPR, data protection and the processing of criminal records data in recruitment.
