Following our recent posts notifying of the Government’s commission to the Migration Advisory Committee (MAC), the MAC has now issued their call for evidence.
The MAC is seeking evidence from stakeholders on two issues; (i) the future system of salary thresholds and the level at which they could be set, (ii) reviewing the current immigration system with a focus on introducing an ‘Australian-style’ points-based system (PBS) after Brexit.
These are two significant areas which will certainly have a huge impact on the new immigration regime due to come into effect from 1st January 2021. It is therefore imperative that businesses and stakeholders feedback to the MAC as part of this call.
The MAC’s deadline to respond is 5th November.
We will shortly be reaching out to clients and key stakeholders to discuss how to participate and respond to the call.
Further information on the call for evidence can be found here.
