Louis is the joint-head of the Media & Communications Disputes team. He leads an exceptional team of media litigators and has an established reputation for his expert advice to media clients often involving criminal law related matters.
He has specialist expertise in advising on defamation, privacy and breach of confidence, contempt of court and public law for major broadcasters, production companies and national newspapers often acting in emergency injunction applications. He also acts for freelance journalists and campaigning bodies often in protecting journalistic material from seizure by law enforcement agencies. He is ranked by Chambers and Legal 500 as a Band 1 lawyer, recognised as a “widely respected figure” leading an “accomplished team of defamation specialists”. He was also recently shortlisted in the Legal 500 2019 Risk Advisory Lawyer of the Year Awards.
